Direct Care and Treatment is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Competency Attainment Services team. The Competency Coordinator is responsible for providing court liaison services for all patients at Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) admitted under an order of incompetency. This role plays a vital part in the discharge planning process, ensuring that individuals with incompetency orders are transitioned in a timely manner to the clinically indicated level of care. The individual in this position serves as a liaison to external partners, including county human services organizations, criminal and civil court personnel, and assists with building and nurturing partnerships with external agencies. This key role works in collaboration with the Competency Coordinator Supervisor, AMRTC Leadership, Director of Competency Attainment, the General Counsel's office, Forensic Services staff, and the AMRTC Quality Department to assist in the discharge process and assist with resolving barriers to discharge, and complete data entry related to admission and discharge planning for Chapter 611 and Rule 20 legal status patients.
The incumbent of this position must be flexible in terms of work hours as well as the ability to travel. The incumbent is expected to always represent DCT in a professional and positive manner.
Responsibilities include:
Manage all Notification of Discharge court filings for patients served at AMRTC with orders of incompetency.
Collaborate with the treatment team to assure competency evaluations are completed as scheduled in accord with court orders and timely discharge to the clinically indicated level of care.
Assist with developing and implementing data collection related to the provision of competency attainment education services for patients at AMRTC.
Monitor competency attainment education services provided to patients with orders of incompetency and collaborates with the treatment team to ensure individuals receive active individualized, person-centered treatment.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center, Anoka, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

Only candidates residing in Minnesota or a state bordering Minnesota (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) within 50 miles of the work address listed above are eligible for telework.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavior Analysis, or related field, AND
Licensure/Certification in the State of Minnesota, AND
3 years of post-bachelor's degree experience working in behavioral health settings, and have past professional work experience including knowledge and understanding of the roles and relationships of courts, state, tribal, federal, and community agencies in the delivery of human services.
OR
Master's of Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Analysis, or related field, AND
1 year of post-graduate experience working in behavioral health settings, and have past professional work experience including knowledge and understanding of the roles and relationships of courts, state, tribal, federal, and community agencies in the delivery of human services.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to provide education and technical guidance to others, particularly on topics related to orders of incompetency under MN statute 611 and/or MN rules of criminal procedure Rule 20.
Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Experience working with court partners in a liaison role.
