SUMMARY
Manages Subaru of America's (SOA's) parts and accessories pricing function in order to maximize sales and profits. Develops and executes pricing strategies that align with corporate goals, leading a team of Pricing Analysts, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure accurate, competitive, and market-responsive pricing for automotive parts. Uses strong strategic and analytical skills to implement and maintain pricing systems, databases, and tools and develop processes that drive consistency and continuous improvement in our pricing function.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements comprehensive parts pricing strategies to optimize revenue and market positioning. Develops accurate mathematical pricing models with pricing for parts and accessories, including potential discounts, tariffs, and margin percentages and dollars for Subaru of America (SOA), distributors, and retailers.
Leads, mentors, and manages a team of Pricing Analysts to execute pricing analysis and initiatives. Reviews and validates the work of the team with an eye towards the longer-term strategy of the department and company.
Incorporates retailer feedback, field input, and pricing actions from Subaru Corporation (SBR) and Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) to prioritize parts pricing projects. Serves as point of contact for all pricing matters, including as they relate to battery electric vehicles (BEV) and Alliance products, with SBR. Harmonizes impacts of pricing actions with SBR and SIA.
Collaborates cross-functionally with leadership, Accessories, Sales, Product Sourcing, Marketing, Finance, Customs, Information Technology (IT), Accounting, and other departments to drive cohesive pricing decisions. Maintains responsibility for project management, considers objectives and information from various sources, and ensures that pricing efforts are integrated and compliant with other critical business areas and that all are informed of pricing decisions.
Leads the Pricing Governance Committee, facilitating quarterly meetings to review pricing performance and initiatives.
Conducts and coordinates regular market research to identify opportunities for price repositioning and oversees the implementation of pricing changes with the Analyst team. Provides various @types of market research and competitive project analyses as well as insight into future trends, socio-economic movements, and innovations that impact our products and business.
Develops and monitors pricing key performance indicators (KPIs), delivering insights and reports to leadership and Fixed Operations teams. Manages continuous improvement efforts.
Ensures timely and accurate updates to the parts pricing item master, including part number control, pricing for new and existing parts, vendor assignments, price lists, supersession chains, and dealer pricing publications
Serves as the business owner for the migration to a new pricing software, overseeing implementation and success. Identifies strategic and tactical IT needs for the pricing software and serves as the business project lead on all system projects. Manages relationships with software vendors, including sourcing, request for proposal (RFP), onboarding, and maintenance activities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the New Model Year High Cost Warranty Analysis project requested by SBR/North American Subaru, Inc. (NASI). Works in conjunction with SBR and SOA Warranty to create a spreadsheet, by model, combining parts and warranty labor time to determine what parts need to be added to the Warranty and Maintenance booklet and/or reported to government agencies.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
8 to 10 years of relevant experience required.
Proven experience in pricing strategy and management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sectors.
Strong business acumen with understanding of business strategy, multi-level pricing, and financial and business models.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities using large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to develop proposals and recommendations.
Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders. Strong negotiating skills and ability to build consensus among groups in an organization.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Prior experience with pricing software
Prior experience with leading transformational change.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days) [Wednesdays & Fridays]
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 15% Domestic
COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $114,800 - 164,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Additionally, this role is bonus-eligible, with a target bonus percentage that provides an opportunity to earn even more based on your performance. (Internal Job Grade: M2)
