Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Belcamp, Maryland. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software and tools.

Responsibilities:

Perform accounts receivable and general ledger tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations.

Handle month-end close processes for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Manage fixed asset accounting and maintain detailed records for depreciation schedules.

Process bills, payments, wires, and issue checks promptly and accurately.

Reconcile cash accounts and ensure proper handling of debits and credits.

Conduct daily and periodic account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

Utilize Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Work with accounting software, to manage substantial account pools effectively.

Follow up with customers to resolve outstanding issues and maintain positive relationships.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all financial activities.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management.

Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and fixed asset accounting.

Experience with cash reconciliations and handling ACH transactions.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

Familiarity with accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
