Summary You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Comptroller Department of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND. Responsibilities You will formulate budgets and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities. You will evaluate and review budget requests, control, and reports of obligations and expenditures. You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary, and financial information to prepare summaries for use by managers. You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with the accounting systems' analytical, forecasting, and interpretive functions associated with the management and control of funds. You will work with several financial management and accounting software applications as well as Microsoft Office programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying, analyzing, and resolving a range of budgetary problems in a variety of ways, such as development of alternative methods of funding; 2) Formulating budget estimates for programs in which funding requirements have changed significantly; 3) Implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets; and 4) Utilizing software programs such as Microsoft Office suite, program and budgeting systems, Defense Travel System (DTS) or similar travel system, Corporate Automated Resource Information Systems (CARIS), and various other financial systems as applicable.
