Position Title: Senior Project Manager
Full Time, 40 hrs/week
Salary: $90,750.40
FLSA Status: Exempt
Term: This is a term limited position funded from the date of hire until December 31, 2026.
Purpose and Background:
This position exists in the Governor's Office of Operations and Cabinet Affairs but will also support the Governor's Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives (OFFSI) to facilitate the coordination and implementation of federal funds across all State agencies. This position will function in a matrix organization, regularly engaging with and updating Governor's Office staff and leaders, Office of State Planning and Budget, Office of the State Controller, and others working on operationalizing federal funds.
A strong candidate will be a demonstrated leader with excellent organizational and communication skills, experience managing teams across State government toward a shared mission, and demonstrate ambition to design, develop, implement, and close out complex operational systems.
Summary of Functions : This position serves as project lead for the implementation of stimulus programs and performance reporting, including administering the financial and programmatic closeout of economic recovery projects, coordinating data collection and analysing performance trends, providing general verification and quality control for spending and performance metrics, supporting storytelling and other outward facing information sharing, and other general administrative and management activities as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct the closeout process for all economic recovery stimulus projects monitored by the Governor's Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives, including those funded by:
American Rescue Plan Act's State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds
American Rescue Plan Act's Direct to Agency Awards
State funded stimulus projects
Other federally funded projects
Lead the creation and implementation of a process for analysing trends and cataloging lessons learned during the implementation of the stimulus funds
Supervise OFFSI interns
Coordinate the regular update of the Governor's Federal Funds website
Lead any other emergent data collection and project management work of the offices as requested.
Lead and complete research assignments as directed by supervisor
Lead the validation and quality control of qualitative information and support with data validation on all recovery programs
Contribute to strategy and planning work, meetings, and other activities such as process improvement and other opportunities
Lead drafting staff and agency guidance and memorandums
Lead additional projects at the direction of supervisor
Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Deputy Director of Operations for Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives and is part of the Office of Operations and Cabinet Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Required Education/Experience :
7 years of professional experience serving in a role of similar capacity. Higher education may be counted in a year-for-year substitution so long as the degree obtained is in a relevant field of study (project management, political science, business administration, public administration, etc.).
Customer service experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or similar field of study.
Conditions of employment: Must be currently employed within the Office of Operations within the Office of the Governor.
