Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Financial Screener to join our team in Long Beach, California. This Contract-to-permanent role is integral to helping patients access healthcare services by assisting them with financial options and verifying their eligibility for Medi-Cal and other programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, insurance verification, and financial counseling.

Responsibilities:

Conduct financial screenings to determine patient eligibility for Medi-Cal and other healthcare programs.

Guide patients through the application process for Medi-Cal, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of required documents.

Explain available coverage options and assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities.

Verify insurance eligibility, financial status, and documentation to ensure services are appropriately covered.

Collaborate with billing teams and other departments to ensure compliance with Medi-Cal regulations and accurate claims processing.

Maintain comprehensive records of patient interactions and screenings in alignment with organizational standards.

Stay informed about updates to Medi-Cal policies, eligibility criteria, and healthcare regulations.

Support the organization's operations by ensuring seamless patient access to financial assistance programs.

Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document and track patient information effectively. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling, medical billing, or insurance verification.

Proficiency in working with Medi-Cal, Medicaid eligibility, and insurance authorization processes.

Strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and patient eligibility procedures.

Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and record-keeping.

Familiarity with Medi-Cal policies and healthcare regulations.

Excellent communication skills to effectively assist and support patients.

Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage accurate documentation and compliance.
