Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Program Management Operations Directorate (PMOD), Information Coordination in Washington, D.C. Responsibilities In this position, you will oversee the planning and execution of the acquisition efforts and provide staff support to senior acquisition officials while also serving as an expert and spokesperson on acquisition requiring the ability to manage the triple constraints of cost, schedule, and performance. This position starts at a salary of $120,579.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $156,755.00 (GS-13, Step 10). As an Acquisition Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the triple constraints of cost, schedule, and performance; long range planning for acquisition programs; acquisition program budget and financial management; program execution; and monitoring contractor performance. Typical work assignments will include: Integrating various federal agency requirements to execute program requirements so expectations are coordinated with all agencies and organizations including various functional elements within CBP, establishing responsibilities and setting expectations. Serving as a leader responsible for all overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned acquisition programs. Collaborating with Systems Engineering, Business Management, Logistics, and other offices to determine resource requirements, coordinate support, establish and decide on/coordinate plans and work scope. Representing the acquisition program or staff and conducting briefings attended by technical and functional personnel and high-ranking government and industry officials to explain new or contemplates developments, accomplishments, and acquisition program status. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Reviewing program progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost; Providing input to CBP senior acquisition management personnel regarding the budget and execution/performance status related to programs assigned; Ensuring proper resolution of issues raised based on performance trends, forecasts schedule, budget, manpower, or quality problems; Keeping CBP leadership fully informed of program progress, issues and their resolution, and impacts of any costs.
