Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Monrovia, California. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance while contributing to strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail to work in a dynamic environment and support critical operational functions.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard cost roll-ups, and variance analysis for manufacturing or lab operations.

Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including variance analysis and performance metrics for senior management.

Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate recording of accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations related to operational expenses.

Provide financial data and schedules to support audit requirements and public company compliance.

Manage equity compensation reporting and forecasting, including modeling expenses for RSUs, stock options, and other plans.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as R& D and Operations, to develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.

Utilize business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Adaptive Insights to analyze trends and deliver actionable insights.

Assist in creating the annual operating plan, long-term forecasts, and reforecast cycles to align with organizational goals.

Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to support the growth of the organization. Requirements - Proven experience in cost accounting, with expertise in inventory valuation and variance analysis.

Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

Familiarity with public company reporting requirements and audit processes.

Experience in equity compensation reporting and forecasting, including RSUs and stock options.

Proficiency in financial modeling and using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, particularly in life sciences or biotech industries.

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
