DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for supervising food production and meal service at the hospital. This will include scheduling food production and food service staff in their daily assignments and ensuring subordinates are completing their assigned tasks. Some of your duties will include following standardized recipes and menus, overseeing tray and cafeteria lines, adhering to individuals' allergy or intolerance needs, and monitoring freezer and cooler temperatures. You will also control and limit waste, as well as transfer food, supplies and equipment between storage, work areas, serving and cleaning areas in an appropriate manner. You can expect to make sure properly covered and labelled food is stored in designated areas, report shortages and leftovers, and maintain inventory. Additionally, you will document issues with and correct subordinates, coordinate their requests for time off, and monitor cooking procedures and methods.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Food Service Worker (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service;or Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course;or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.
