About this Job
The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.
We are seeking a highly organized and experiencedAdministrative Assistant 4to provide advanced administrative support to senior leadership and ensure efficient daily operations. This role requires discretion, initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Communicating Effectively:The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
Demonstrating Accountability:The ability to accept ownership for your actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Preparing and Updating the calendar for the Executive Director.
Processing payroll for the employees that work under the Executive Director.
Processing school materials for the LA Special School District.
Greeting Visitors that enter the AEM building for various projects.
Assisting the Executive Director with various meeting appointments and travel arrangements.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The chosen application will be required to take a probationary appointment.
Location: The Administrative Assistant 4 position is at the Louisiana Special School District.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules may be available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position for which you are applying.
