Summary About the Position: This position is located at Peachtree City, GA with the Department of Defense Education Activity's (DoDEA's) Management and Employee Relations division. Peachtree City is located in western Fayette County in the southern Atlanta metro area. This position is not covered by a bargaining unit. This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy. Responsibilities Perform a variety of human resources technician activities in support of the management and employee relations programs in matters related to conduct, performance, and attendance/leave. Explain processes and procedures to be followed in proposing and submitting Request for Personnel Actions (RPAs) and other requests for service by the Management and Employee Relations Branch (MER). Prepare and deliver training to employees and other staff concerning awards and federal leave programs. Prepare official correspondence concerning awards the approval or disapproval of requests for Leave Without Pay (LWOP), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), advance leave, etc. Compile information for reports and maintains files and accurate logs (grievances, leave, awards, etc.). Prepare, coordinate, issue, track, and file grievances for the MER program. Respond to routine MER questions from customers. Prepare and submit Request for Personnel Action (RPA). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience for GS 06: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing correspondence, providing statistical data regarding HR programs, and utilizing automated Human Resources systems to process personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Specialized Experience for GS 07: One year of specialized experience which includes counseling employees concerning benefit programs, providing guidance regarding MER matters, and utilizing automated Human Resources systems to process personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement for GS 05: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks. Time in Grade Requirement for GS 06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
