As a member of the Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team, the AP P ' s focus is providing care for patients undergoing cellular therapy related to a variety of oncological , hematological , and other non-malignant disorders.? This includes, but not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of bone marrow failure syndromes, aplastic anemia , relapsed /refractory leukemia s, immunodeficiencies, and certain genetic disorders . ?The AP P will be a part of a team of providers and nurses, providing direct patient management which includes evaluating patients, ordering/interpreting laboratory tests, developing differential diagnoses, and implementing plans of care.? The Inpatient BMT APP is expected to work effectively with the medical team by communicating clearly with families, working well with physicians, being a resource to nursing staff, and collaborating with multiple subspecialities.? We are looking for candidates who have a passion for patient care , teamwork, and an enthusiasm to grow their advanced practice career caring for the pediatric bone marrow transplant/cellular therapy population.
The AP P has a variety of roles providing inpatient management of children receiving a bone marrow transplant or cellular therapy . The AP P sees patients independently and in conjunction with physicians throughout the day . All patients require close monitoring due to the complexity of their diagnosis and treatment course . This includes reviewing labs and?radiologic imaging, evaluati ng for complications, collaborati ng with specialties including , but not limited to intensive care and infectious disease , and educating patients and their families . These encounters build a holistic relationship of trust that is vital to their overall health outcomes.?This role has many nuances that make it continual ly challe nging and reward ing. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse I (APRN-I) provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. The APRN-I participates in beginning leadership, evidenced-based practice/ research, and organizational development activities with the support and direction of an experienced APRN mentor.

Qualifications
Master's Degree Required and 1-2 years experience Pediatric RN experience. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
DNP preferred and 1-2 years experience Pediatric RN experience. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
APRN KS Advanced Practice Registered Nurse KS APRN license in Kansas Required Upon Hire
APRN MO Advanced Practice Registered Nurse MO APRN documentation of Recognition in Missouri Required Upon Hire
APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
Acute Care PNP will be required
Will have two years to be enrolled in a program and five years to complete the program
