CLASSIFICATION: TRAINEE (CONSTRUCTION) A. DUTIES: Under close supervision as a learner in training for advancement to the next higher grade in his/her promotional sequence, works with employees of higher classification in electrical and other work in and about substations and shops; performing such duties as: Assisting employees of higher classification in their work, including supplying them with tools, instruments, materials and equipment.

Caring for tools, instruments, materials, and equipment used in the work.

Operating power tools such as electric drills, any saw, welders, mag drills, etc.

Operating torches, handling solder, removing insulation from wires, etc.

Bending, cutting and threading conduit and pipe by hand.

Driving a truck or other Company vehicles on a limited basis, such as, to and from job site, when required; and other driving incidental with performance of duties.

Acquiring a working knowledge of safety rules, first-aid and safety equipment, understand work methods, and be certified in CPR and first aid.

Performing other similar or less skilled work. B. QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet the Company's requirements as to GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must have acquired a knowledge of the use and care of the more common tools used in the work.

Must be capable of passing the Company's drivers examination and possess the necessary driver's license, including the appropriate Commercial Driver's License. Must obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment.

Must possess and demonstrate through testing an aptitude for mechanical and electrical work.

Must possess and demonstrate ability to climb structures and work at elevated heights.
