Summary ORGANIZATION LOCATION: Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Patient Business Servicers. Position is located in Phoenix, AZ, and supervised through the Supervisory Health System Specialist. The position is responsible for assignment and balance of daily work load among staff to ensure coverage. In addition, generating third party alternate resources claims and tracking insurance claims and payments. Responsibilities Performs leader responsibilities such as, distributes workload to employees, monitors daily operations and priorities, prepares production reports to evaluate quantity and quality workload, educates employees on established procedures and practices, reports to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employee. Performs billing responsibilities such as, receives and examines alternate resources claims to assure claims are complete, identifies errors, omissions, duplications in claim documents, conducts review of all abstraction and search of records in accordance with CPT/HCPCS coding system, perform billing, collections, follow-up, adjustment, and accounting methods, to conduct difficult analysis and determinations to validate transactions and to perform research to resolve inconsistencies. Knowledge of extensive body of alternate reimbursement policies, regulations, instructions and the interrelationships of the procedures and regulations on eligibility, allowances, and documentation pertinent to the full range of alternate resource reimbursements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following @type of work and/or tasks: Serves as the lead providing guidance, workload coordination, and quality oversight to ensure efficient billing office operations. Track productivity metrics and prepares workload and quality reports for management. Assist with generation of third party alternate resource claims, tracking insurance claims, generating and evaluating billing reports, and ability to research and reference billing policies. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
