Description
Goals and Purpose
Work closely with more experienced Team members and participate in apprenticeship classes in order to learn the skills and meet the requirements for becoming a journeyman.
Essential Responsibilities
Productivity
Report to work on-time and ready to learn and accomplish tasks.
Learn, according to applicable apprenticeship standards, the knowledge and skills necessary to receive state certified journeyman's papers upon completion of program (4 years).
Work on the shop floor in order to learn required tasks.
Regularly attend apprenticeship classes.
Perform well by meeting supervision expectations, in class and on the shop floor.
Ask relevant questions about processes or tasks not understood.
Ask for help with shop floor tasks or class assignments as needed.
Seek to understand the Penn United work/manufacturing process.
Perform tasks to meet speed expectations without compromising quality.
Quality Orientation
Implement and follow all safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies.
Work to establish 99% quality level expectation by following quality plans.
Inspect and verify all dimensions on print.
On Time Delivery
Meet all class assignment deadlines.
Work in teams to complete assigned tasks correctly and on time.
Sort jobs by due date and complexity.
Customer Service
Understand and implement knowledge of meeting internal and external customer requirements.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; some vocational-technical training preferred.
High level of technical, mechanical, mathematical ability.
Desire to learn and ability to apply knowledge to on-the-job tasks.

Regular attendance and solid performance in apprenticeship classes.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Service attitude; commitment to safety and quality.
