Job Description Accounting Support 212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987 HEADD Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 6:00pm 15 - 25 hours/week OVERVIEW: Working as Part-time Accounting Support, you will enjoy the opportunity of performing a variety of accounting responsibilities for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position offers a part-time work opportunity with duties and responsibilities that will vary and increase as the employee demonstrates their capabilities. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. This position will involve exposure to varying aspects of our accounting and finance operations. These opportunities will be afforded to those selected who can commit to working part-time at Fastenal's corporate offices located in Winona, MN. During this time, one will work in a select area within the department and will be given the chance to work in their major field of study. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this entry level position include, but are not limited to: oProcessing and participating in various corporate accounting system transactions and procedures oAssisting with the month-end corporate accounting system close processes oReviewing financial and operational data oWorking to identify and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency oCompleting special projects and data analysis oPerforming other administrative tasks as assigned REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: oPossess or are working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business oExcellent written and oral communication skills oProficient using Microsoft Office Suite particularly utilizing Excel oExhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills oDemonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities oDemonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency oHighly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented oLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment oWork independently and in a team environment oDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork oPass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: oPeopleSoft knowledge oPrior experience or knowledge in accounting, tax, or business ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
