The Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice (Board) is a state agency dedicated to the protection of the public through regulation of occupational therapy practice.

The Assistant Executive Director works under limited supervision and applies advanced knowledge to support the statutory mission of the Board to ensure Minnesotans are protected and receive quality occupational therapy from competent, qualified occupational therapy practitioners. The incumbent will assist the Executive Director with operations, fiscal activities and policy issues, managing the administrative services of the Board's programs, managing projects as assigned, assisting with complaint investigations, and directing the Board's licensure function.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Direct and oversee licensure unit operations, including licensure processes, monthly licensure renewal processes, post-licensure follow-up and complaint processing.

Serve as the Assistant Executive Director for the Board.

Management of the database, projects, record management systems, website and other technology.

This position is expected to work 3 days per week in the office Days may vary based upon needs of the Board.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in general administrative work related to the management of a unit, program, division, or department.

Applicants who meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

Ability to cultivate strong, trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong communication skills (oral and written) to communicate in a variety of formats and to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy.

Analytical and problem-solving skills sufficient to analyze and evaluate problems and issues at strategic level and provide creative problem-solving solutions.

Ability to apply analysis and project manage tasks to completion.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize among competing tasks.

Familiarity with state budgeting and financial systems (SEMA4, SWIFT, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in Business Administration or other closely related filed as determined by the agency.

Office administrative support experience.

Project management skills.

Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Board's statute and administrative procedures sufficient to analyze the Board's compliance with both.
