Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Hockley, Texas. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a background in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. You will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and organization of financial records while providing essential support to the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices by matching them to purchase orders and receiving documents, ensuring accuracy.

Enter invoice data into the accounting system with a high level of precision.

Organize and maintain vendor invoices, statements, and other accounts payable documentation.

Address vendor inquiries regarding payment statuses under supervision.

Assist in preparing payment runs, including checks and electronic transfers, for review and approval.

Reconcile vendor statements against company records to resolve discrepancies.

Process incoming payments, such as checks and electronic transfers, and apply them to customer accounts.

Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements in a timely manner.

Provide general administrative support, including data entry, scanning, and filing financial documents.

Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes as directed by the accounting team. Requirements - High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role with exposure to accounting functions.

Proven experience in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, data sorting, and formatting.

Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining financial records.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced work environment.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
