Position Description:
As a Strategic Account Manager, you are responsible for planning and implementing strategies as the primary contact for assigned direct accounts, new customer engagements and support of key account activities that will result in sustainably growing revenues within the 5G telecommunications applications with a technical understanding of the associated equipment or Industrial Factory Automation and Electrical Utility market sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a hunter's mentality and will draw on their experience within the Industrial/Factory Automation market or Electric Utility applications with a power, surge protection and/or power quality background. The candidate should have strong account development experience and a proven record of accomplishment of profitable growth. Candidate will report to the Director of Sales responsible for these markets. The Strategic Account Manager will work closely with a cross-functional team including Technical Support, Product Management, Inside Sales, Marketing and Operations.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide primary interface with a variety of assigned and potential direct customers, via video, phone, email, and live web chat.
Fields questions from customers and prospects on product functionality, availability and pricing.
Prospect and develop new direct customer opportunities in key focus markets such as Factory Automation/Controls, Utilities and Industrial market sectors
Develop a solid understanding of our customer's business as the basis for effective thought leadership, influencing, and the alignment of business interests .
Exercise excellent business judgment to determine additional support as needed or escalation as required.
Perform customer discovery and recommend appropriate associated products including other brand categories.
Aligns stakeholder interests to create a win/win balance that demonstrates mutual benefit, achieves wins, and contributes to future partnering with key customers
Process requests for quote through the company's ERP system.
Identify primary and secondary market segment for new customers.
Work closely with cross-functional departments including collaborating with Marketing for lead generation campaigns.
Resolve customer issues, questions and complaints in a professional and collaborative manner
Must demonstrate initiative to improve professional skills and department processes.
Maintain account mapping of key influencers and contacts.
Maintain sales funnel to convert prospect into sales.
Ability to work from home (WFH) or potential hybrid office environment.
Other duties as assigned to support overall sales objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and business acumen with a customer centric focus and urgency to obtain strategic objectives.
Ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a sales or technical support role preferably associated with Power Quality or Power Protection Systems.
Professional communication and presentation skills, written and spoken English, including correct usage of grammar and sentence structure and appropriate professional messaging and tone
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
General computer skills, including a solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, PowerPoint, MS Teams, LinkedIn Navigator and Hootsuite
Experience working in a fast-paced sale environment
Experience with a CRM system preferred
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-40 pounds?
Education and/or Experience:
BS Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing
Ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a sales or technical support role preferably associated with Power Quality or Power Protection Systems.
