Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for packaging materials in accordance with general packing instructions. You will ensure that customer-specific packaging requirements are followed by adhering to written directions. Additionally, you will apply side bands securely to coils, a process for which you will receive training. You will also create coil identification tags by entering information into a computer and printing labels to be placed on bands. Your role includes operating a forklift to move materials, though this will only occupy approximately 10% of your day. The majority of your time, 5-6 hours, will be dedicated to packaging, with the remaining hours spent maintaining a clean work area through sweeping.

Responsibilities

Package materials according to general packing instructions and customer-specific requirements.

Apply side bands securely to coils following training.

Create coil identification tags by inputting data into a computer and printing labels.

Operate a forklift to move materials, comprising about 10% of the workday.

Maintain a clean work area through regular sweeping.

Essential Skills

Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments.

Proficiency in packaging techniques.

Ability to repetitively lift up to 60 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Material handling experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a manufacturing setting that can be hot, loud, or dirty at times. Heating is available in the winter, but there is no air conditioning during summer months. The shift options are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM or from 2 PM to 11 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
