This position will have the opportunity for a hybrid schedule (combination of in-office and remote workplace). Please note - equipment provisioning and certain onboarding tasks will take place in person, in our Denver office, on the first day of employment.
The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) ensures the delivery of a comprehensive, community-informed, data-driven, high-quality, and equitable early childhood system that supports the care, education and well-being of all Colorado's young children, their families and early childhood professionals in all settings. CDEC provides access to collaborative, coordinated, quality early childhood programs and support to children, families, and early care professionals in an effort to best prepare Coloradans for future success. CDEC works with many partners, including parents, schools, child care providers, Early Childhood Councils, counties, Community Centered Boards, early intervention service providers, family resources centers, county human services, county public health, businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to provide high-quality early childhood and family support programs.
The Registry and Career Pathways Unit provides leadership to build the infrastructure and systems that support diverse professionals across the early childhood sector through a robust workforce registry, learning management system, and by simplifying and aligning robust qualification and credentialing pathways. This unit works to identify and address barriers to access that exist for individuals who desire a career in Early Childhood Education and to support career advancement pathways through professional credentialing systems that are meaningfully aligned with other CDEC and state programs focused on the early childhood workforce. The unit has 10 professional staff dedicated to supporting both ongoing and temporary initiatives to support the continuous growth and development of the early childhood workforce, including the Professional Development Information System (PDIS), Qualification and Competency Alignment Initiatives, and the Early Childhood Professional Credential (ECPC). In addition, teams within this unit manage several key vendor contracts and ongoing engagements with external partners.

What you'll be doing:
The UPP Resource Bank Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Universal Preschool Resource Bank content through the Professional Development Information System (PDIS). This process supports Colorado Universal Preschool programs and professional training organizations being able to submit their curricula, resources, and training programs for review to ensure they align with Universal Preschool quality standards that are embedded in Universal Preschool rules. Adopted by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood in March 2024, the Universal Preschool rules include standards for program quality in three areas: family and community engagement, healthy development, and instructional practice. This position will add content to the Resource Bank in response to the needs and interests of preschool providers. This includes ensuring that curricula and training are aligned to the Universal Preschool Quality Standards, as well as the Competencies for Early Childhood Educators and Professionals.
Major Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing processes for Universal Preschool curriculum, resource, and training alignment processes to support the Universal Preschool Division and Resource Bank.
Creates how-to guides and resources that support applications through the Universal Preschool Resource Bank alignment processes.
Creates standard operating procedures on how to review Universal Preschool Resource Bank applications.
Following standards set by the Universal Preschool program, reviews and approves Universal Preschool Resource Bank applications related to curricula and training that will be accepted for the Universal Preschool Resource Bank.
Continually revises and improves processes.
Provides technical assistance to applicants and instructors.
Post links, documents ,and trainings to the Universal Preschool Resource Bank pages within the Salesforce back-end platform of the PDIS.
Determines which files to feature in the Resource Bank.
Maintains files and links published to the Resource Bank.
Answers Help Desk questions about Resource Bank content.
Makes recommendations for enhancements to the PDIS to support the Resource Bank functionality
The position must balance meeting long-term projects and deadlines with emerging needs.
The position must be able to juggle meeting Executive deadlines for emerging topics with the need to complete longer-term projects.
Balance the interests of CDEC with those of the statewide system when serving on external committees.
Educating others in the applicability and nuances of law, rules, procedures, and policies when they question the necessity of such.
Recommend changes to CDEC policy or Division/Unit internal processes in order to implement new
developments or changes.
Examine work processes and flow based on analyses, compliance requirements, and the Division/Unit's goals and objectives to identify opportunities to improve own effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only:
Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to Early Childhood. Must have at least 5 years of experience as an early childhood teacher or leader of an early childhood program.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to Early Childhood and the work assigned is equal to seven (7) years. Must have at least 5 years of experience as an early childhood teacher or leader of an early childhood program.
