Summary You will serve as an EDUCATION SERVICES SPECIALIST in the Navy Voluntary Education (VOLED) Department of NETPDC. Responsibilities You will ensure detailed, individual-specific education plans for Sailors to meet personal and professional goals. You will provide information and planning services concerning available options, resources, and methods for meeting education and vocational goals. You will annotate all counseling notes professionally and clearly in designated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as, but not limited to, Salesforce or Navy College Management Information Systems (NCMIS). You will provide educational services briefings to Navy command personnel virtually and face-to-face. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assessing an individual's educational needs to provide available options; 2) Reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing educational programs to resolve complex issues associated with education, education counseling, and education services; 3) Utilizing and operating various education case management systems and a variety of computer applications to conduct data analysis on educational programs; and 4) and convey information using email, word processing, presentations, and oral communication. Educational program administration: Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs. Curriculum development or design: Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs. Teaching methods: Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner. Guidance and counseling: Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation. Career planning: Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems. Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various @types of occupational information and resources. In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, but in lieu of specialized experience, applicants may substitute the following education: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree; or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
