Job Summary The Medication Aide plays a crucial role in providing care and support to residents in a nursing home or assisted living environment. This position involves administering medications, monitoring residents' health, and ensuring that all medical documentation is accurately maintained. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate nature and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with varying needs, including those with dementia.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications to residents according to established protocols.

Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.

Assist residents with daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity.

Maintain accurate medical documentation for each resident, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Provide care and support for residents with dementia, utilizing appropriate techniques and strategies.

Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to develop individualized care plans.

Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents by adhering to health and safety standards.

Participate in training sessions and continuing education opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.

Skills

Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to patient care.

Experience in home community care or similar caregiving roles is preferred.

Ability to effectively document medical information and maintain confidentiality.

Familiarity with administering medications and understanding their effects on patients.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams.

Compassionate approach towards caregiving, particularly for individuals with special needs such as dementia.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.

This role is essential in delivering high-quality care within our community, ensuring that all residents receive the attention they deserve while maintaining their health and well-being.

Job Types: Full-time, PRN

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

Schedule:

Morning shift

Night shift
