Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This contract position involves handling essential financial tasks to support the organization's operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is proficient in accounting software and spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities:

Process and record invoices with precision to maintain accurate financial records.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

Reconcile financial statements and accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure consistency.

Perform data entry tasks to support the maintenance of financial databases and systems.

Assist in billing operations, ensuring invoices are prepared and sent correctly.

Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to perform daily tasks efficiently.

Prepare reports and documentation to support audits and internal reviews.

Collaborate with team members to resolve financial discrepancies and streamline processes.

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Strong skills in reconciling accounts and financial statements.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications.

Ability to process invoices and manage billing operations accurately.

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Effective communication skills for teamwork and reporting.

Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
