Job Description

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Verify material/merchandise against receiving documents, identify discrepancies and obvious damages, route materials; and store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.

Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations; stores, stacks or palletizes material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Assist with inventory, evaluation of general property.

Operate company vehicles and material handling equipment.

Select storage location and record selected location on inventory worksheets. Forward appropriate paperwork to supervisor for review.

Maintain tools, equipment, and facilities to include government furnished property and equipment.

Assist in remitting, transferring, and releasing property.

Support sales activities.

Pick up, transport and deliver parts, material, equipment and components to pre-determined destinations in excess of 400 miles one-way.

Assist with loading and unloading of material being transported.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Minimum Requirements :

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required or equivalent training or experience. Six to twelve months job related experience and/or training is required. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. Perform driving duties as requested. Position may require overnight travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and musts be able to work under deadlines.

Hiring hourly rate of pay:?$22.51 (Hourly rate set by SCA)?

*This position is regulated by the Department of Labor (DOL) as a Service Contract Act (SCA) contract. The DOL regulates the minimum hourly rate of pay, holiday and vacation leave benefits, and Health and Welfare (H&W) money.

*Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer's cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag.
