Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In this contract position, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate payment processing, and maintaining account records. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Process and post accounts receivable payments accurately to the appropriate ledger.

Investigate and resolve account discrepancies by communicating with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Reconcile daily financial transactions, prepare income reports, and distribute relevant statistics.

Research and address short payments on invoices and apply necessary adjustments.

Maintain detailed account transaction notes and ensure strict confidentiality of financial records.

Process credits for returned goods and manage rebates on customer accounts.

Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reporting, and reconciliation.

Facilitate inter- and intra-company reconciliations with manufacturing plants, vendors, and suppliers.

Organize and file accounts receivable paperwork on a weekly basis.

Provide general accounting support as needed and ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, including B2B collections and cash applications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, as needed.
