Job Description

The Material Management Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes by accurately managing materials, resolving inventory discrepancies, processing acquisitions and providing exceptional customer and client support. The role is responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels, stocking the supply rooms, processing incoming material requests, expediting orders, monitoring deliveries and managing materials within the System Application and Products (SAP) system.
Principle Job Duties & Responsibilities :
Coordinate acquisition, handling, storing, sustainment, and fulfillment of Facilities O&M stock and tool crib inventory
Accurately receiving and logging material requirements; addressing customer requests promptly and professionally
Executes remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving and excess stock, suggesting actions for better material efficiency based upon production need
Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and escalates issues, as required
Traces history of items to determine reasons for variances between inventory and stock control records and identifies actions to resolve discrepancies
Uses system reports to effectively manage materials and reordering
Assists with spot and annual inventory through physical counts and automated inventory transaction analysis
Maintains material data in SAP system and manages receipt of inventory through software transactions
Cycle counting, inventory adjustment, and discrepancy investigation to ensure accuracy and efficient operations
Processes customer rejected materials for vendor returns and records information, as needed
Responsible for stock issuance and returns for maintenance activities
Identify solutions to system issues that relate to Material records
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Performs light to medium material handling functions within the department, moving product and components, as required

Salary Rate: $30.00 - 34.00/hour + Fringe $4.98/hour

Basic Job Requirements
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs
Generate documents, organize and manage material reporting, and maintain tracking data
Maintain effective utilization of all logistical spaces and replenish stock item materials in order to support site maintenance
Monitors contract, Federal Acquisition Regulation and changes affecting Government material and property including accountability, identification, shipping, receiving, control, use, maintenance, storage and disposition

High School diploma or GED preferred
1-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Adhere to all site safety policy, procedures, and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation; report incidents immediately to supervisor

Collaborate across all disciplines including logistics, procurement, project management, quality, engineering and maintenance
Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively handle conflict resolution and conduct work task prioritization
