Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs a variety of routine and complex laboratory diagnostic tests used in the analysis, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Tests specimens completely and accurately within established timeframes and according to procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

Associates Degree in Medical Technology MLT(ASCP) eligible or equivalent for Technician. Copy of academic degree or transcript required. General learning ability needed to learn, understand and apply knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and other clinical lab specialties needed to perform standardized tests on blood, urine and other body fluids, using medical reagent kits and instrumentation that identifies the presence of disease. Verbal ability needed to read and understand written procedures that explain testing procedures used to properly perform each task. Eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity needed to operate specific pipets and other equipment, and to input data into lab computer system. Color vision required to identify hue of specimens and when performing chemical color testing.
