We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to support our hospice care team. In this important administrative role, you'll help manage and maintain accurate patient records, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and provide general office support that helps everything run smoothly. Your work helps make every moment count.
As a Medical Records Clerk, You Will:
Maintain medical records in accordance with regulatory and compliance standards
Ensure completed records meet agency, state, and federal guidelines
Coordinate the appropriate release of information, including securing signed authorizations and preparing requested documentation
Assist clinical staff with timely and accurate admissions processing
Develop and maintain the master patient index
Provide administrative support for the agency-answering phones, ordering supplies, managing data entry and collection
About You
Qualifications - What You'll Bring:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of three years' experience in general office work or a medical records department
Proficient in operating office equipment and electronic systems (computer/tablet)
Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and communication skills
Accurate data entry and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and shift priorities efficiently without losing composure or productivity
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
Experience in hospice, healthcare, or medical office settings
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
Exposure to EMR (Electronic Medical Record) platforms
Customer service experience, especially in a healthcare environment
Bilingual or multilingual skills
