Schedule: 2nd and 3rd shift schedules available. Schedules are
pre-determined and do not rotate, however, most include working Saturday
and/or Sunday every other week.

About:
In 1956, a group of parents and friends linked arms together to form a
group that would provide support for people with intellectual
disabilities and related disabilities that would allow them to live,
work and recreate within their own community. They started out with
garage sales (Now the What Not Shop) to raise funds to start a small
school that would be later established as the Hope Training School. As
the students grew older and graduated, they needed a new place to go to
work and the Adult Activity Center (now Community Support Services) was
created. From there, we\'ve opened five residential homes, offer Shared
Living services, and Home Supports. We remain the 3rd largest employer
in the area.
Hope Association Direct Support Professional Job Responsibilities:
Provides direct care to those with intellectual and developmental
disabilities.
Supports people to live self-determined lives
Teaches and supports people to reach personal goals and enhance
personal development , including working, socializing, building and
maintaining relationships, academic goals, planning new experiences,
following and developing interests, learning new skills, etc..
Seeks and connects people to resources and opportunities that may
enhance their lives
Supports people to have meaningful, valued roles within their
community
Performs personal care tasks, with respect and dignity, to whatever
level of assistance a person may need, including assistance with
basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation,
medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
Teaches and ensures safety
Supports people to schedule and attend appointments and other
meaningful engagements
Supports social roles and encourages natural relationships
Encourages people to participate in all aspects of their lives, as
able.
Reports abuse, neglect, and exploitation as required for mandated
reporters
Document services and report internally and to OADS /APS as required
Performs home management functions such as light housekeeping,
laundry, bed making, and cleaning.
Supports people to plans their meals, shop for groceries, prepare
and serve food/meals, and clean-up.
Transports individuals to where they need and want to go.
Utilizes adaptive equipment, as necessary, to ensure the quality
people supported.
Follows HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, all laws, and agency
policies and practices
Provides all services with respect, and dignity, prioritizing the
person-centered needs of people supported.
Prioritizes Professional Development and growth
Works independently, and in collaboration within a variety of teams
Prioritizes and ensures high quality services, following Hope
Associations Mission and Vision statement
Prioritizes and ensures a positive culture and work environment for
all members of the team

Requirements and skills:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have full physical mobility
Successful clearance of background checks
Drivers License
Able to drive a larger, passenger van or bus
Vaccinations, NOT including covid vaccination (although recommended)
Basic computer skills
Writing/reading skills
