Overview
As a Senior Copywriter, XCat Style Campaigns, you will work within a creative pod led by the Associate Creative Director of Copy (Style), developing concepts that straddle the fashion, beauty, and home strategic business units. You'll work in close partnership with art directors and cross-functional partners to create breakthrough customer experiences across omnichannel campaigns, including broadcast, digital, paid and owned media, and retail marketing.
This role requires a conceptually driven writer who can transform strategy into sharp messaging, from writing sharp and succinct scripts for multichannel campaigns and engaging social content to crafting site assets, emails, and in-store messaging, you'll ensure a cohesive and elevated brand voice. We're looking for a strategically minded conceptual thinker with outstanding creative judgment, experience in script writing, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting.
You'll be joining a fast-moving and collaborative team that believes in the power of elevated creativity to make style at Walmart feel desirable and culturally relevant.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Execution & Storytelling
Write clear, concise, and compelling copy that communicates strategic ideas and campaign messaging across full-funnel, omnichannel campaigns (broadcast, OOH, digital, social, site, retail, and more).
Support concept development and creative storytelling in response to briefs under the guidance of the ACD of Copy.
Craft scripts, taglines, manifestos, and seasonal/brand lines that help drive brand perception and elevate Walmart Style.
Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and storytelling across various assets and customer touchpoints.
Strategic & Collaborative Thinking
Translate marketing strategies and insights into creative ideas that support both customer relevance and business goals.
Actively participate in brainstorms, concept reviews, and production processes, contributing ideas and solutions aligned with campaign objectives.
Stay informed on fashion, beauty, and cultural trends that can influence creative messaging and enhance brand resonance.
Production & Execution
Support pre-production and post-production phases, including script revisions, shoot prep materials, and post-edit copy updates.
Ensure accurate copy execution throughout the production pipeline. QC'ing work and collaborating with editors, producers, and art partners.
Teamwork & Efficiency
Work closely with partners in Creative Account Management & Operations, Marketing, and Production to meet project milestones on time and on budget.
Manage multiple deliverables at once, keeping workstreams organized and expectations clear with stakeholders.
Be responsive to feedback and work collaboratively with senior creatives and peers to refine and elevate the work.
Qualifications
5+ years of copywriting experience with an emphasis on fashion, retail, or lifestyle brands.
Strong portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, storytelling, and multi-channel executions.
Experience writing for full-funnel campaigns, including digital video, social, site, and in-store channels.
Excellent grasp of tone, grammar, and brand voice with the ability to adapt to evolving brand guidelines.
Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
Experience in fast-paced, high-volume creative environments (in-house or agency).
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Creative Writing, or related field.
Proficient in Google Slides, Slack, and other collaborative tools.

The annual salary range for this position is $96,000.00-$186,000.00
