Our Organization and Mission:
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.
The Work You Will Do:
This position is located within the Director's Office of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This position is a part of the administrative assistant team and is responsible for the administrative functions in the office.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the administrative functions in the office to include :
Inputs filings into the database as directed.
Examines documents and communicates with industry and supervisors as directed to reconcile inconsistent information in filings.
Maintains databases and spreadsheets and makes necessary corrections.
Compiles data and prepares reports as requested.
Makes recommendations for improvements.
Adheres to established bureau procedures.
Research files and historical data to verify the accuracy of database screens.
Responds to inquiries from managing entities and developers regarding filings.
Research annual fee notices that have been returned undeliverable and/or addressee unknown, as directed.
Performs routine clerical duties, including phone duties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in the use of available department technology, including hardware, word-processing software, and related applications; use and management of database and imaging systems, and use of the Internet.
Effective written and oral communication skills in a professional and courteous manner.
Minimum Requirements:
Two (2) years of relevant experience in customer service and administrative functions.
