Position Summary
The Vice President of Clinical and Scientific Marketing is responsible for the management of clinical and scientific content (both up-stream and down-stream) in support of Caris' clinical and biopharma business segments. This position leads a multi-functional team of medical/scientific communications professionals, program managers, clinical content creators, KOL developers. This is a senior member of the marketing leadership team who helps shape and inform the organizations' go-to-market commercial strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the precision medicine industry, with a special focus in oncology across community cancer centers, academia medical centers and the biopharma ecosystem. Additionally, the candidate will have a strong understanding of molecular biology to support scientific communications and will have experience writing or publishing original scientific content. This dynamic leader possesses a strong track record of success in developing and implementing marketing strategies, campaigns, clinical data strategies, biopharma or life sciences industry strategies that delivers high value to the commercial efforts of Caris Life Sciences.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of scientific and medical employees to both inform clinical development plans and the dissemination of clinical content to external customers.
Lead the development of clinical dossiers, technical assessments, and medical presentations for key stakeholders and opinion leaders.
Establish team goals and objectives tied to the organization's strategic imperatives and hiring and managing the team.
Develop a data-driven approach to improve key product and customer metrics and to ensure goals are achieved.
Engage with key internal stakeholders and key opinion leaders to support product enhancements, new product launches and customer engagement.
Owner and facilitator of the strategy for advisory boards and scientific KOL engagement.
Align clinical claims and product attributes with the product marketing team as they develop messaging and go to market strategies.
Lead the strategy on evaluating our competitors and provide insight into commercialization tactics and clinical study planning.
Lead the development and content generation of scientific content for the purpose of marketing and persuasion with a highly technical audience.
Develop the strategy and implement it to build and maintain an effective speaker bureau.
Develop and disseminate insights that inform how products need to be developed to compete.
Translate complex subject matter into easier-to-digest content, while reinforcing key and differentiating features.
Lead coordination of the clinical development plan for studies and responsible for cataloging key data points and disseminating. Responsible for coordinating across medical, clinical, R&D, and bioinformatics to build plans for study generation and communicate progress.
Continually broaden knowledge base regarding company science, company culture, business, industry and trends.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D or Pharm D.
10+ years in oncology and biopharma marketing or medical experience.
Demonstrated success delivering strategic plans with a consultative approach to medical or clinical development.
Dynamic and adaptable project manager with a strong ability to establish processes and drive project execution with minimal guidance amidst multiple priorities and goals.
Must be able to work across levels and functions (including, but not limited to commercial teams, R&D, medical affairs, market access, legal, regulatory, etc.) in the organization to drive delivery of strategic decisions and priorities.
Ability to develop, communicate and execute short- and long-term strategic planning.
Must be well organized and can meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong executive presence, presentation, communication and leadership skills.
Proficient computer skills, inclusive of strong MS PowerPoint skills.

An effective communicator who is comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences and stakeholders at various levels.
Exceptional leader and team player with proven ability to lead through influence and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, diverse cross-functional teams.
Advanced degree (MBA/PhD) and molecular science/precision medicine experience.
Past marketing leadership.
This role is preferably based in our Irving or Phoenix office.
Training
