Position Title: Finance Analyst (L9)
Business Unit: TD Securities

Report Location: Hybrid (Will be in office 4 days a week starting in November)

Overview
TD Securities US Finance is a part of the wider TD Securities Finance group, as one of the three regional finance groups for the Wholesale Banking segment of TD Bank Group it has a key role in the USA providing support in financial, management, liquidity, and regulatory reporting. In addition, by its nature as a primary control and support group in the region, TDS Finance USA provides business information supporting projects and initiatives often as the liaison with the other groups and segments both in the US and Canada but also with the other regions (UK and Singapore).
Specific Accountabilities Include:
Oversight of financial reporting close process for NY Branch business units.
Produce a monthly package for executive reporting including variance commentaries for senior management.
Assisting with preparation, analysis, and proper documentation of monthly accounting entries (US GAAP vs IFRS differences)
Assist with the preparation and support of various accounts (including accruals, intercompany reconciliations, compensation)
Assisting with internal audit and governance requests, including preparation of reconciliations, organizing documents, and responding to inquiries.
Improve data accuracy, and support data-driven decision-making.
Adherence with firm's chart of accounts, account reconciliation and attestation policy, including liaising with Operations & Reconciliation Control teams to resolve issues.
Work collaboratively with Regulatory reporting team, Financial Operations teams to prioritize Regulatory remediation initiatives.
Support Governance related tasks/mandate and work closely with Compliance and 1B business partners to understand and satisfy requirements, if needed.
Action opportunities to improve and further automate existing processes and reporting within area of responsibility including the use of tools such as Alteryx.
Work closely with the manager to build strong data/process governance and key controls and analytics for Regulatory/financial reporting deliveries.
Support other key departmental projects and initiatives as assigned by manager.
Maintain and build strong internal controls upon existing procedure documents and processes by updating and performing ongoing review of all information required to support reports; includes information gathering from source systems and working with business partners to source required information and maintenance of up-to-date standard operating procedures.
Specific Requirements / Accreditations:
Bachelor's degree in accounting (Masters a plus) - CPA or CPA candidate a plus
6+ years post-undergraduate experience in public accounting and/or financial services
Organized, detail oriented and self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills.
Very good understanding of accounting principles and GAAP (IFRS is a plus)
Proven analytical skills and sound judgment in a dynamic business environment.
The ability to translate high volumes of /complex reporting requirements and data into simple, consistent, and sustainable processes.
Demonstrated data aggregation and reconciliation skills.
Strong sense of process and data governance and strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
Understanding of Wholesale Banking/Capital Markets businesses, products and associated balance sheet and P&L
Collaborative, team player with ability to work individually.
Advanced Excel and MS Access skills required and Alteryx skills/knowledge a plus.
Demonstrates the ability to manage up as well as laterally with business partners.
Confident communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate working with business and senior management at all levels.
Ability to work within deadlines while still providing a high-quality work product.
Highly motivated individual with a proven track record to deliver results and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree and/or
3+ years relevant experience preferred
Accounting, financial or relevant professional designation preferred
