The Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician has responsibility for electronic controls and electrical manufacturing equipment maintenance activities, in support of Cartamundi Dallas long/short-term objectives. They Initiate and execute the reactive repair and preventative maintenance activities on all production equipment in the facility, including printing, cutting, stamping, wrapping, and vision-based control systems. They utilize a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach through a CMMS (UpKeep) to schedule and document activities. They are responsible for reactive spare parts identification, ordering non-stock items needed for repair, coordinating with outside vendors, and working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Safety, and Quality departments on special projects and new equipment installations. They ensure a safe working environment is maintained and all activities are conducted according to safe work practices and company requirements in the area. They may respond to facilities maintenance needs in other areas, as directed by the department manager and may need to respond during off-shift hours or special circumstances.
What you'll do as a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician:
Work both independently and in coordination with other team members to support the plant manufacturing operations.
Responsible for conducting all PM and Reactive Maintenance Activities in the facility.
Primary focus is Uptime and Performance of electronically controlled equipment including printing presses, coaters, cutting equipment, stamping equipment, automated box forming equipment, wrapping machines, automated assembly equipment, and in-line support equipment such as air compressors and chillers, plate makers, and similar equipment.
Trouble-shoot and repair processor and relay logic-controlled equipment and servo drive systems, including Seimens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Keyence.
Diagnose and repair complex logic controlled pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Install, program, and maintain vision-based control systems and scanners to ensure product quality and proper machine operation.
View and adjust PLC programs and HMI configurations to diagnose problems, repair, and improve operation.
Assemble and wire control panels with typical components such as PLCs, HMIs, relays, power supplies, and input/output cards.
Diagnose and repair safety systems, including light curtains and other occupancy/proximity sensors.
Maintain and Improve the Implementation and Utilization of the plant CMMS (UpKeep) for all manufacturing equipment
Manage tooling/spare parts inventories
Expedite non-stock parts to maintain equipment
Execute new equipment installation and processes in the area
Collaborate with all Maintenance Department Team Members, Manufacturing Engineering, and other departments on project execution.
Participate in safety observations, inspections, analysis, and safety meetings
Facilitate cross-functional TPM Teams throughout in the printing area
Support, lead and/or participate in Kaizen events or other cross-function project throughout the Dallas Site
Monitor or provide awareness of Maintenance Department Spending (MRO) and provide justifications as needed for high impact items.
Initiate purchase requisitions & approve invoiced payments related to the department, as directed or required
Develop and maintain effective functional and cross-functional relationships with internal and external business partners
We're looking for a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician with:
5 years industrial plant maintenance experience with a minimum of 3 years in a high-volume printing facility with controls, automation, and integrated manufacturing equipment maintenance.
Prior experience with off-set printing, preferably with KBA equipment, is preferred.
Electrical Journeyman Certification, or higher, is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of Electrical/Mechanical equipment and processes in the Maintenance field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Decision making experience, Reliable Judgement, and Strong Sense of Personal Ownership
Experience with a well-developed CMMS
Ability to Work Independently and to work well in a group work environment
Must be proactive, organized and results oriented with a high commitment to the business.

Communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others
Ability to perform sedentary work on various computer systems
