Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position, offering the opportunity to transition into a long-term role based on performance. In this role, you will play a key part in managing general ledger activities and supporting payroll operations. The position is fully on-site and ideal for someone eager to contribute to a growing organization.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Prepare and post journal entries while reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Support payroll processing for a workforce of over 100 employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Manage accounts payable (AP) processes, including invoice verification and payment scheduling.

Handle accounts receivable (AR) tasks, such as invoicing and collections.

Collaborate with internal teams to streamline and improve accounting workflows.

Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management review.

Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Address and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

Provide support during audits by gathering and organizing required documentation.

Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting.

At least 3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, managing payroll for 100+ employees.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, on-site environment.

Familiarity with accounting principles and practices, including compliance standards.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
