As a leader in this this highly skilled, innovative team, you will play a significant role in supporting our digital transformation and modernization strategy. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of digital solutions and process control systems.
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Manager - Technology Transformation & Digital Solutions to lead our organization's efforts in driving digital innovation and implementing cutting-edge technologies in the industrial manufacturing space. This role will focus on the successful deployment of smart manufacturing systems, leveraging AI, ML, IoT/IIoT, edge computing, advanced analytics, and vision AI systems to enable our company to embrace Industry 4.0 and achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise, and a passion for driving change in a complex and dynamic industry.
Responsibilities:
Safety: Responsible and accountable for individual safety, overall safety for the team, and ensuring that vendors follow proper safety protocols
Lead Technology Transformation: Manage and execute the end-to-end transformation of our manufacturing operations, ensuring the successful implementation of digital solutions, Industry 4.0, IoT/IIoT, and advanced analytics.
Strategic Planning: Develop and drive the roadmap for digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and scalability across operations.
AI/ML & Advanced Analytics: Oversee the development, deployment, and integration of AI, ML, and advanced analytics models that drive operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and smarter decision-making.
Smart Manufacturing & Digital Twin: Lead efforts to establish smart manufacturing systems and the creation of digital twins, enabling real-time monitoring and optimization of production processes.
Digital Thread & Integration: Ensure the seamless integration of digital thread throughout the organization, connecting data from product design, manufacturing, supply chain, and post-production stages to optimize workflows.
Edge Computing: Implement edge computing solutions to enable real-time data processing at the point of operation, reducing latency and enhancing responsiveness of the production systems.
Vision AI Systems: Oversee the deployment of vision AI systems for quality control, automation, and defect detection to improve product quality and consistency.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, operations, and senior management to ensure the successful implementation of digital technologies and alignment with business objectives.
Change Management: Drive organizational change initiatives, ensuring employees are well-equipped to adopt new technologies and processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Vendor Management: Engage with external technology vendors and partners to evaluate and implement best-in-class solutions and ensure successful integration into our ecosystem.
Budget Management: Manage the budget for technology transformation initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and tracking ROI for each project.
Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, data scientists, and project managers to ensure effective delivery of transformation initiatives.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Management of a technical team in the Software Development, Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing or related fields
Experience providing teams with direction in day-to-day and strategic priorities while managing customers in an agile or waterfall environment
Experience developing talent, managing projects, setting goals, creating timelines, tracking progress and delivering results
Experience creating and managing budgets, purchase orders and invoices
Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting a plus
PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Passionate about fostering a high-performance culture, leading by example, and inspiring the team to accomplish extraordinary results

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
High level understanding of the following:
Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning
Java, C, C#, C++, R, and/or Python
PLC Programming, SCADA systems, HMI design
Industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
TRAVEL:
Travel expected occasionally, monthly to quarterly depending on project stages - locations include Chicago, St. Louis, and Detroit areas.

Expected to work as necessary to meet deadlines and milestones
24x7 production environment - Team is on a rotational on-call schedule to meet customer needs
