The Georgia Department of Revenue seeks to hire two (2) Tax Examiner Supervisors to honor the state of Georgia's commitment to providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers via service that is helpful, courteous, accessible, responsive, and knowledgeable. The role requires high levels of initiative and commitment towards completing tasks, as well as an elevated standard of ethical conduct while maintaining a positive and professional image.
Reporting to the Title Processing Manager, you will oversee a staff of Tax Examiners who are responsible for servicing customers in a face-to-face setting. The lobby unit handles a variety of duties related to the Title Processing Unit. For example, this unit process salvaged titles, rebuilt titles, real-time expedited titles, judgements, motor vehicle record research and certifications.
Areas of accountability include, but are not limited to
· Applying and interpreting state and federal laws
· Assisting external and internal customers to resolve complex issues and problems
· Providing administrative support to senior management
· Ensuring the team meets assigned production goals
· Proactively identifying operational issues and presenting viable solutions to senior management
· Ensuring staff is cross trained on all functions performed within the unit
Entry Qualifications
Associates degree in accounting or related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience in the examination, preparation, or auditing of financial-related documents, which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisor.
~ OR four (4) years of job-related experience in the examination, preparation, or auditing of financial-related documents, which includes one (1) year of experience in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role
~ OR one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Tax Examiner 3-FIT012 or equivalent position
Required Skills & Experience
· Experience
o Minimum 1 year of experience functioning in a lead or advanced lead role
o Data entry, systems query, creating reports, and using data to identify trends
o Conducting research to resolve customer issues
Customer Service : Appropriately address internal & external customer issues via phone or written communication
Teamwork and Cooperation : Promoting a positive team atmosphere and working well with co-workers & leadership
Judgment and Decision Making : Effectively using proper judgment to resolve customer issues
Accountability : Accepting responsibility for one's actions with honesty and integrity, while maintaining credibility and remaining committed to organizational success
Results Orientation : Successfully meeting deadlines and achieving performance goals, while focused on efficient & effective problem resolution

Process Improvement : Improving established business procedures that enhance organizational effectiveness
Effective Verbal & Written Communication : Effectively communicating with staff & leadership.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and successfully meeting production standards
Preferred Qualifications
· Two years of supervisor experience
· Two years of experience resolving customer issues in a customer-facing environment (financial services, accounting, or government setting preferred)
Position Status & Pay Grade: Unclassified - Pay Grade J

Location: South Metro Office at 4125 Welcome All Rd, Atlanta GA 30349. *This vacancy requires a daily in-office presence with hours of 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
