A company in Santa Clarita is looking for a highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk. In this role, you will play an integral part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and account reconciliations. As an essential member of the finance team, you will contribute to maintaining strong relationships with vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting internal reporting processes.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to work onsite Monday- Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and correct general ledger coding before processing.

Match purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor invoices to ensure accurate invoice processing.

Process accounts payable transactions, including entering invoices and scheduling payments, while adhering to specific deadlines.

Reconcile accounts payable accounts and resolve discrepancies with vendors in a timely and professional manner.

Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and resolve any related issues.

Maintain organized records of all payments and vendor communications, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Prepare and execute check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.

Assist with month-end closing, including accounts payable reconciliation and reporting.

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment on purchasing and payment procedures.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhanced procedures to streamline operations.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, internal policies, and external regulations.

Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience may be considered).

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role or similar position.

Skills & Competencies:

o Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, general accounting concepts, and accounting systems.

o Proficiency in [accounting systems/software, e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, Microsoft Excel].

o Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

o Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.

o Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve financial discrepancies.
