The Civil & Environmental Engineering Department is a joint department in the School of Engineering and the Doerr School of Sustainability. The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEE) seeks a well-qualified candidate for a 100% FTE Administrative Associate position. This position provides a full range of office administrative support to faculty research groups in the Environmental Engineering and Science (EES) program within CEE, and to faculty groups in adjacent programs. As part of an exceptionally collaborative team of staff in CEE, the Administrative Associate will support exciting research, programs, student groups and events through daily interactions with professors, students, and academic and administrative staff.

In this role, you will:
Oversee and/or perform duties associated with scheduling, organizing, and operating complex conferences, seminars, and events, including arranging with vendors for services, overseeing the production and distribution of materials, administering logistics, and managing events within budget.
Compose and draft documents and correspondence for presentations, course handouts, grants, conferences, seminars, and reports; perform substantial editing and fact checking. Create, maintain, modify, and/or ensure accuracy of content in various unit documents, displays, reports, brochures, social media, and/or websites.
Create complex reports and spreadsheets which may utilize specialized software and systems.
Oversee and/or process a variety of complex financial transactions; produce, monitor, and reconcile budget statements; research, identify, and resolve discrepancies. May assist with capital or special equipment requests and/or vendor selection.
University financial operations including purchasing, reimbursements, corporate card use and oversight, revenue processing, account reconciliation and expenditure control.
Administrative support for coursesandinstructors as well as graduate students.
Support theEESgraduate admissions process in coordination with CEE student services staff.
Initiate the appointment of graduate student research and teaching assistants as well as postdoctoral scholars; support for planning and monitoring student support and associated expenses
Operational or administrative project support for faculty- or student-led research projects, competitions, and presentations.
Shipping/receiving, facilities coordination, and other operational support duties and general office tasks.
Education & Experience (Required):
High school diploma andfouryears of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required):
Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Education & Experience (Desired):
A four-year college degree.
MS Office, Outlook and Google Drive experience.
Physical Requirements:
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently sitting.
Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

Pay Range:
The expected pay range for this position is $39.20 to $45.56 per hour.
