NYL Investors is seeking a manager for Bank Loan & Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) Operations to lead all aspects of operations across the full lifecycle of syndicated loans and CLO portfolios. This position is ideal for an experienced operations leader with 10+ years of managerial experience in leveraged loan and CLO operations. The role demands in-depth operational knowledge, leadership excellence, and a drive to implement process efficiencies. The individual will oversee operational support and personnel responsible for daily and monthly cash reconciliations, servicing activities, data comparisons, CLO compliance, reporting, and systems utilization. The ideal candidate brings an expert-level understanding of industry best practices and systems to support bank loan operations.
What You'll Do:
Provide strategic oversight of multiple operational functions, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality execution of all tasks across the team.
Lead and manage all facets of CLO operations, including trade capture, cash reconciliations, lifecycle management, rollovers, security maintenance, corporate actions, and monthly CLO reporting and compliance coordination with Trustees.
Oversee CLO warehouse operations, including pre- and post-close reconciliations, system and trustee tie-outs, and the resolution of complex reconciliation issues.
Review and validate complex compliance reports, waterfall calculations, and investor reporting deliverables, ensuring adherence to all contractual obligations.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending practical, scalable solutions.
Manage and/or contribute to cross-functional projects: develop detailed project plans, create test scripts, monitor execution, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Lead new system initiatives and upgrades, ensuring functionality aligns with business requirements and operational integrity.
Foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., Front Office and Technology) and external partners (e.g., Custodians, Trustees, Vendors) to support efficient, transparent operations.
Lead recruitment efforts, conduct interviews and evaluate candidates to build a high-performing, diverse team.
Deliver formal performance evaluations for direct reports, providing developmental feedback in both mid-year and annual review cycles.
Actively mentor staff and support their career growth through coaching, skill development, and leadership opportunities.
Cultivate a client-centric culture while maintaining strong, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Effectively manage and prioritize team workload; set clear performance goals and monitor achievement metrics.
Maintain open lines of communication with senior management, providing timely updates on team performance, escalations, and resource challenges.
Ensure business continuity through proactive staffing strategies and contingency planning for vacation, illness, or critical incidents.
Maintain comprehensive procedures and controls for all operational processes.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of managerial experience in leveraged loan and CLO operations, with a strong track record of leading high-performing operational teams.
Deep expertise in CLO servicing, compliance monitoring, indenture interpretation, and coordination with trustees.
Proficient in key industry platforms such as Wall Street Office Admin and Compliance (WSO), Aladdin, and ClearPar; familiarity with Markit Recon and CAMRA is a strong plus.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with proven strengths in decision-making, analytics, and relationship management.
Experienced and comfortable in conducting formal performance evaluations and providing developmental feedback to direct reports.
Demonstrated success in authoring business requirements, executing system testing, documenting operational workflows, and managing end-to-end implementation processes.

Empowered to make day-to-day operational decisions; collaborate with sr. leadership on strategic initiatives and escalations.

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
