Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Akron, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounts payable and accounting functions. You will play a key part in managing invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and vendor communication to ensure the smooth operation of financial activities.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable invoices with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and documentation are adhered to.

Verify vouchers and match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents.

Code invoices correctly and secure necessary approvals for payments.

Maintain and organize document storage for invoices and associated records.

Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly.

Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve invoice inquiries and update payment statuses.

Prepare and execute electronic payments, including ACH transfers and wire transactions.

Review employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and accuracy.

Support month-end closing procedures, including accruals and account reconciliations.

Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles.

Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms.

Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.

Ability to perform account reconciliations and analysis with attention to detail.

Familiarity with ACH transfers and electronic payment methods.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.

Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and records effectively.

Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions.
