Description

Robert Half is seeking a Accounting Manager/ Consultant for our client in the public works/ governmental industry. The Accounting Consultant will be responsible for leading the month end close, balance sheet reconciliation and managing fixed assets. Additionally the consultant will be the point person for the year end audit. This opportunity will be located onsite in Banning, CA.

Technical Skills

Monitor general ledger accounts, reconcile bank accounts, and review budgeting items, debt service, grants, and donation accounts for accuracy

Track fixed asset accounting additions, deletions, and depreciation to ensure adherence to procedural changes

Lead the month end close and fiscal year in audits across multiple departments

Review and book journal entries

Supervise a team of 4 staff

Review and create desktop procedures for accounting department

Intermediate Excel skills required

Soft Skills

Attention to detail

Able to communicate at various levels within the organization

Must be able to work independently

Requirements

Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial statement audits.

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.

Expertise in journal entries and fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculation.

Familiarity with GASB, ACFR and governmental accounting principles.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial operations.

Ability to communicate effectively at various organizational levels.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
