Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Sykesville, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will contribute to key financial operations, including general accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. This is a long-term contract position with opportunities to work on government contracting projects and utilize advanced accounting software.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and review journal entries for month-end close processes.

Analyze profit and loss statements and provide actionable insights for financial performance.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify financial transactions and balances.

Collaborate on government contracting projects by ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline financial tasks.

Create presentations to communicate financial data and findings effectively.

Support internal audits and ensure compliance with financial policies.

Assist in preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close activities.

Strong analytical skills for interpreting profit and loss statements.

Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Knowledge of government contracting regulations and practices.

Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data and collaborating with teams.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
