Position Overview
International is growing! We are looking to add a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to our San Antonio facility!
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery of products. This role manages a team of production operators and technicians, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and that production goals are consistently met. The supervisor drives continuous improvement initiatives, enforces safety and compliance standards, and works closely with cross-functional teams including maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain to resolve issues and optimize plant performance.
Responsibilities
Supervising hourly workforce in a manufacturing facility
Interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives within the department
Responsible for the daily supervision of hourly employees, including, but not limited to effective management of attendance, discipline, training, and work performance
Responsible for managing safety including leading safety meetings, identifying opportunities and resolving issues for the area
Accountable for producing the best quality trucks in the industry by achieving and maintaining key quality KPIs
Responsible for managing staffing and resources to efficiently build vehicles, hit quality and safety goals and attain cost targets
Responsible for attaining budgetary targets for area of accountability
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement through the use of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Train, develop and grow the team as a whole and individual members
Solve production issues in real time to achieve daily production requirements
Responsible for achievement of daily production requirements to meet customer needs and expectations
Responsible for cultivating a healthy, high performance culture for hourly paid personnel
Responsible for enforcement of contractual language and obligations and working with local Union Representatives toward effective resolution and prevention of grievance issues
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 3 years of production/manufacturing experience
OR
Master's degree
At least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience
OR
At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Experience in automotive or truck manufacturing
Experience in supervising employees in a represented manufacturing environment (Union)
Demonstrated understanding in the compliance of Company Safety and Environmental policies
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Demonstrated leadership and self-motivation skills
Knowledge of the truck assembly process and lean manufacturing principles
Ability to use logic and methods to analyze problems and make effective decisions
Demonstrated knowledge of material processes and supplier interfaces
