DoD SkillBridge Program Description:
As one of the largest global security companies in the world, Northrop Grumman is proud to help our nation's military personnel navigate their next chapter into civilian careers. Approximately 20% of Northrop Grumman's 100,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 2,000 are reservists.
The Northrop Grumman DoD SkillBridge Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The program is an opportunity for service members preparing for civilian careers to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The DoD SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
Responsibilities for DoD SkillBridge Program participation are:
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - DoD SkillBridge Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. Through this program, the service-member will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in an entry to mid-level career path. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals - Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service. This program is specifically designed to offer hands-on experience that result in the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Participants will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the DoD SkillBridge program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive hands-on experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
Outcome - Offer service-members preparing for civilian careers a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal or Sr. Principal Contract Administrator supporting the Maritime/Land Systems and Sensors Division based out of Sunnyvale, CA. This position may be staffed out of the Northrop Grumman locations listed below *** . Regardless of site-location, this position is a full-time onsite position that offers the 9/80 work schedule.

*** Staff hired to site other than Sunnyvale will be expected to travel 25% of the time, including visits to Sunnyvale and customer locations. Staff at Baltimore/Rolling Meadows sites are expected to work West Coast hours.
What You'll Get to Do:
Administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.
Apply sound judgment to proposal strategy, contract formation, and customer relationships.
Review and analyze customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to understand Statements of Work (SOW)/contract requirements and advise the program team on contractual terms and conditions.
Ensure company proposals are fully responsive to prospective customer requirements, prepare proposal submittal documents, and coordinate appropriate levels of internal review and approval.
Manage fact-finding, evaluation notices, and negotiations between customer and program team.
Build knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
Advise management of contractual rights and obligations.
Compile and analyze data.
Maintain historical information from pre-award to closeout.
This requisition may be filled as a Principal Contract Administrator or a Sr Principal Contract Administrator.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for Principal Contract Administrator:
Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in Contracts, Subcontracts, Business Management, or related field; or a master's degree or JD with 3 years of experience in Contracts, Subcontracts, Business Management, or related field.
Must have 2 years of experience with Government Contracts.
Experience consulting on a wide range of contractual and business-related matters including proposal strategy, estimating & pricing, audits, contract formation and customer relationships.
Experience supporting multi-organizational coordination and collaboration involving senior internal and external personnel
Experience with FAR/DFARS and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations.
Experience with various contract @types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursable, and Time and Material contracts.
US citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Contract Administrator:
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in Contracts, Subcontracts, Business Management, or related field; or a master's degree or JD with a 6 years of experience in Contracts, Subcontracts, Business Management, or related field.
Must have 3 years of experience with Government Contracts.
Experience consulting on a wide range of contractual and business-related matters including proposal strategy, estimating & pricing, audits, contract formation and customer relationships.
Experience supporting multi-organizational coordination and collaboration involving senior internal and external personnel
Experience with FAR/DFARS and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations.
Experience with various contract @types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursable, and Time and Material contracts.
US citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry.
Experience in client facing and executive engagement.
Proficient in daily use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and other PC programs and software.
Active DOD security clearance.

Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00Salary Range 2: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
