Description of Job
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for processing records requests, and for the storage, management, and all records held by the Auraria Campus Police Department. This position may also support the Clery Compliance Manager.
Essential Job Functions: Data Management & Retention
Provide assistance with administration and overall maintenance of the Records Management System and body worn camera (BWC) footage storage system.
Assist personnel in using and navigating the BWC and Records Management System software.
Review and redact police records and various forms of digital evidence to ensure the release is in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes and established policies and procedures.
Assist with routine functionality audits, ensuring video evidence is uploaded correctly, and policies and procedures related police records and digital evidence are followed.
Assist Records Manager to ensure that records retention tables are adhered to.
Provide assistance with on-call support and on-site visits as required.
Assists the Records Manager in data entry, records management and compliance with required crime reporting systems (CCIC/NCIC, NIBRS)
Records System Management and Technical Support
Assists end-users with troubleshooting basic technical equipment issues.
Assist with coordinating Information Technology staff regarding system related issues.
Patrol Staff On-Boarding and On-Going Training
Assist with research and design of departmental training programs and conduct training programs related to the preservation of records and digital media by serving as instructor or facilitator.
Program Policy & Procedures / Clery Compliance
Assist with developing policies related records, reports, and other documentation in compliance with Federal and State Law.
Coordinate with ACPD Records Manager to assess and collect proper fees for records requests.
Assist the Records Manager and Clery Compliance functions in the absence of the Records Manager.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Applicant must beat least 18 yearsof age
No felony convictions that would preclude access to law enforcement databases
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Provide full responses to all required supplemental questions. Your answers will be used as part of the application screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a Police Records Department
Experience with AXON BWC systems
Experience with RMS/CAD systems
Previous knowledge of NIBRS/CJIS data requirements and entry
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires pre-employment background and credit investigation (personal and employment history). Applicants must submit to complete a background investigation that will include a personal and employment background check along with Personal History Questionnaire forms for various security clearances including Colorado Crime Information (CCIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) security clearance. This investigation will include a polygraph interview, fingerprint check and drug screen.

Years of experience will be expressed in terms of full-time equivalent service with full-time workload equal to one (1) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) year.
