Description

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional seeking contract / part-time work in the greater Brevard, NC area! This is a great opportunity if you are skilled in AP, bank reconciliations and like working in Excel. In addition - you are able to pick your hours/schedule (up to 25 hours per week) and can work both onsite and remotely if needed.

Responsibilities:

Accurately input and code invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper departmental allocation.

Handle payments and manage weekly check processing, including maintaining the check register.

Assist with payroll preparation by verifying accuracy before submission to the payroll processor.

Conduct weekly bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date.

Update and maintain key spreadsheets in Excel, generating reports as needed.

Maintain organized records and thoroughly review all reports for accuracy and completeness.

Deliver consistent support to the accounting team with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Information:

20-25 hours per week

Pay: DOE

Casual office environment

1 remote day

Timeline: 8 weeks

Requirements

At least 3 years of accounting experience, with proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Solid understanding of bank reconciliations and invoice coding processes.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to update spreadsheets and create reports.

Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) processes and general ledger systems.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.
