Summary
This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in character and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field.
Scope
An Advanced Work Packaging Planner II performs work requiring sound engineering judgment in the development of small, discipline-specific, manageable and planned work packages for installation by field crews through the understanding and breaking down of the scope of larger construction projects. This position serves as a liaison to construction supervisors and project controls personnel to understand and provide input into the planned sequence of execution within their work areas. This position coordinates with other construction groups on site to capture the most up to date documentation for inclusion in work package scope. This position also is responsible for monitoring constraints, providing feedback on potential delays and updating status logs to facilitate transparent reporting. On smaller projects the Advanced Work Packaging Planner II may function as the "lead" for AWP activities. May implement and execute activities on projects worldwide. Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
Dissect large Construction Work Packages (CWPs) into smaller Installation Work Packages (IWPs)
Coordinate with construction supervisors and project controls personnel to understand and provide input into the planned sequence of execution within work areas
Coordinate with other construction groups on site to include required and most up to date documentation into work packages
Update status of logs to facilitate transparent reporting
Read and understand construction project work scope
Manage and read technical information and engineering documentation
Work with construction supervision to determine work package sequencing and contingency plans
Identify and mitigate or eliminate potential hazards
Identify and monitor constraints and provide feedback on any delays
Gather information from other departments to include into work package documentation prior to release
Manage the work package approval process
Coordinate with engineers to address technical questions
Review and enter lessons learned from each project into systems/logs
Coordinate with field supervision to provide 3D model shots
Facilitate schedule updates by tracking work packages through progression in the field
Assist group Leads as required
Assist in training Planner I personnel on AWP policies and procedures
Promote AWP objectives and procedures
Facilitate a safe work environment by actively engaging in hazard identification and mitigation processes and working closely with HSE groups
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities and meet deadlines
Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety and Environmental and Sustainability Policies
Lead by example and strongly support both Fluor and the client's HSE programs
Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
May need to travel to attend to business related matters
Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Four (4) to seven (7) years of work-related experience on construction projects as a journeyman in designated trade or Three Two (2) to five thee (3) years of experience as a Field Engineer
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to, coworkers, management, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Previous experience with hands on tasks for the specific trade/discipline

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
