Legal Billing Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Legal Billing Clerk to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing legal billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of invoices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with attorneys, clients, and various billing systems in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and generate monthly pre-bills and draft invoices for attorney review.

Review and revise bills based on attorney feedback while adhering to client billing guidelines and contracts.

Manage a high volume of invoices each month with precision and attention to detail.

Utilize and apply knowledge of litigation and activity codes to ensure accurate billing.

Handle electronic billing tasks, including uploading invoices to various e-billing portals such as Legal Exchange, Collaborati, Legal Tracker, and Tymetrix.

Address client and matter billing inquiries promptly and professionally.

Collaborate with attorneys and clients to manage outstanding accounts receivable and assist with collections as needed.

Maintain strict confidentiality in all client and firm-related matters.

Leverage technology tools, including SurePoint billing software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, to streamline processes.

Participate in special projects and contribute to team initiatives as needed. Requirements - Minimum of 4-6 years of billing experience in a law firm, including at least 2-3 years of electronic billing expertise.

Proficiency in using electronic billing systems and portals.

Strong understanding of litigation and activity codes related to legal billing.

Experience with SurePoint billing and time management software.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to manage a high volume of invoices with accuracy and efficiency.

Excellent communication skills for responding to billing inquiries and collaborating with attorneys and clients.

Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
